1970 Stage 1 Convertible Replica

Fully restored...body-off resto...everything rebuilt/refinished/new/restored.
Car was an original triple white 70 Skylark convertible.....super-clean that had an engine failure.

Pictures taken between rain showers...hood and trunk not fully closed.

 

Car is as follows (5 miles on resto):

Engine, 70 455 with Wiseco 10:1, Edelbrock heads that are ported and polished
with roller rockers, TA Perf headers ceramic coated(poorly done), Performer intake,
Crane XRi points conversion in rebuilt distributor, new wire plugs, water pump etc,
Dave Knutsen performance carb rebuilt to match engine specs, Scott Brown 224-236 cam

 

Trans: SP 400(switch pitch), full rebuild with shift improvement kit and rebuilt sp converter

 

Rear Axle: 1972 8.5" rear, completely rebuilt with all new bearings, seals, GM 410408 posi
and 3.42 gears

 

Exhaust: Torque Tech 2.5" exh, Walker Super Dynomax long case mufflers

 

Suspension/Brakes: Everything rebuilt/replaced.....tie rods, bushings, ball joints, idler, disc brake calipers, hoses, rear bushings, 1.25" front bar, 7/8" rear bar, boxed lower arms with frame braces (F41), all new rear brake hardware with alum rear drums, new bearings, seals, master cylinder, original power booster.

 

Lines: all stainless brake, fuel and trans lines from In-Line Tube.

 

Bumper: Tri-City plating front and rear

 

Grill: new repro grill

 

Pot Metal: Rechromed headlight bezels and hood lip by AIH Chrome

 

Interior: converted from bench......all new: buckets, covers, headrests, carpet, door panels,
rear side panels, rechromed cluster, radio bezel, under column cover, original AM/FM radio works
with new dash speaker, repro in-dash tach, speed alert, rally gages, original 1970 woodgrain shifter handle,
nice console, deluxe (stainless steel cover) seat belts, new door sills, excellent dash pad, original Buick
floor mats, PW system rebuilt and works, tilt column rebuilt, GS steering wheel, power trunk

 

Top: new top, pad, cables, rear window, all conv seals/w-strip

 

Bad area....front hood lip area needs to be redone as rust is evident and driver's lower
rear door corner...shown in pics.....minor issues that any paint shop can handle in 1 day.

 

GS air cleaner is in the trunk and open element air cleaner is used for street.
