Below are some pictures on how you can modify your AC (evaporator) box on the firewall so you can use the tall valve covers on a 455 and not have to move the engine in order to remove the valve covers.

Here is the finished installation

Jim is showing the small section that you can remove which will allow you tor remove the valve covers.

Here is the small removable panel with two brackets that hold it in place on the main evaporator box.

Here is the removable part off the box so you can remove the valve covers without hitting the evaporator box.
